RiNo — short for River North Art District — is the industrial-turned-creative pocket directly northeast of downtown Denver. It's bordered by the South Platte River to the west, the railroad tracks to the south, and the residential streets of Five Points and Cole to the east. From most addresses in RiNo, you can walk into LoDo or Union Station in under fifteen minutes.
The neighborhood is best known for its murals — block after block of commissioned street art, refreshed each fall during the CRUSH Walls festival — and for its dense concentration of breweries, distilleries, restaurants, and design studios. Larimer, Walnut, and Blake streets are the spines guests typically walk. Coors Field is a ten-minute walk south; the South Platte River Trail picks up at 38th and Blake and runs both directions for runs or rides.
Transit is well-served. The RTD A Line stops at 38th & Blake, which is a direct shot to Denver International Airport in 30 minutes. The 44 bus runs the length of the neighborhood. Most of central Denver — including the hospital systems most travel nurses contract with — is within a 10–20 minute drive.
One thing worth knowing: the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless operates a large service center at 24th and Curtis, on the southern edge of RiNo. The area around that block can feel different from the rest of the neighborhood, particularly during service hours. Our RiNo property sits north of there, on a quiet residential side street; walk routes toward the river and toward LoDo avoid the immediate area entirely.
Mid-term guests typically tell us RiNo works best for people who want to be in the middle of Denver's restaurant and nightlife scene, who don't mind a denser neighborhood, and who like the idea of walking everywhere. It's a good fit for shorter contract cycles where you want the city to be the entertainment.
